Why do you use European bred dogs?
Everyone in the world comes to America to buy racing horses; everybody in the world goes to Europe to buy the working dog. Europeans have been breeding and working dogs for hundreds of years. There is a large subculture that breeds, raises puppies, and trains weekly, rain or shine. These breeder/trainers cultivate the dog's natural drive and never suppress it. Over the last three decades, this small dog sport now has become a common export.
How old are the dogs you buy and sell?
We purchase the dogs between twelve months and twenty-four months of age. This allows us to perform a rigorous selection test, hip and elbow x-rays, and at this age “what you see is what you get.” |

What is your selection test?
Our selection test is European based. First the dog's temperament must be friendly and outgoing. Obnoxious, playful, and rowdy behavior can be mastered by training. Fearful, shy, defensive aggression is unacceptable. We test the dog's prey ability (ball crazy) by playing with the dog in a new location and with a new handler. The selected dog must play and hunt anywhere, anytime, and with anybody.
The dog's hunting instinct will be tested by throwing the toy out of sight in a building or bushes, then spinning the dog twice and releasing the dog on its own hunt. Focus and drive is the key, as quitting the hunt without a find, constantly returning to the handler for another toy, or leaving the search area to romp or play are all failures.
